The latest mural was a joy to complete, a large-scale painting, it feels quite a feat,
To engage the space with clarity and vision, organic, botanical, with a hint of precision,
We worked as a team for visual solutions, with multiple references and contributions,
Connection is key, and throughout the design, collaboration and celebration had an opportunity to shine!
Because THIS celebration is quite the thing, from the rooftops we should defiantly sing,
Community House is 25 years old, what an achievement that is to behold,
A mural to celebrate all that entails, incorporating colour, line, and floral details,
But it goes beyond that as deep in its core, I wanted a calming view that people adore!

The influence of Darwin gave a historical dimension, but whilst up the scaffolding it came to my attention,
That the original design although contrasted and bright, doesn’t take into consideration the original plight,
Of the service users and all their frustrations, coming in with all their expectations,
With all the systems they have to navigate, with all the paperwork, it really can agitate,
So, with a bit of insight and a touch of perspective, I took the time to be reflective,

I was a witness when painting the wall, how the team at reception are the first port of call,
And a calming blue background is much better suited, the kindness of the staff must be saluted,
As the artist, I’m responsible for creating the tone, flexibility and adaptability I think I have shown,
Because all these emotions the project awake, how it’s received is the cherry on the cake!

Community House has events I’m attending, and it’s great to see the murals life extending,
To visit schools would be a great opportunity, to fully immerse myself in the local community,
And to chat about my technique and inspiration, and how they can build a similar creation,
I want these projects to have a ripple effect, to build relationships and further connect!

A wonderful insight I’d love to share, is when you align yourself with imagination and flair,
At the art trail, it was a fantastic event, Mercedes magically made the mural augment,
To bring birdsong and movement to a static wall, meeting the Mayor and having a ball,

This project was incredible so fun to achieve, so, what next mural, do I have up my sleeve?
Seems now I only can evaluate in rhyme, to summarise in conclusion, I’ve had the very best time!!
Coming Soon..... Phoenix Project, Watch this SPACE. Please get in touch if you'd like to be involved!
